Open Positions
Are you a creative and passionate game developer with a love for all things space? If so, we want you on our team to help us continue making the best space games in the industry!
At ROCKFISH Games, we specialize in creating games that push the boundaries of what’s possible in the space genre. For over a decade, we’ve been providing space game fans with immersive star systems to explore that are filled with exciting spaceship battles and sci-fi adventures.
From exploring derelict space stations and strange new planets to epic battles in deep space our EVERSPACE series is full of excitement and wonder. We’re looking for talented game developers who’d like to join us in expanding our universe through new PC and console adventures, rocket-propelled by Unreal Engine 5.
If fast-paced space combat in the best tradition of Freelancer combined with 6DOF movement à la Descent and a good dose of fresh ideas is your thing, we would love to hear from you. See our open roles below or reach out with an initiative application if you feel your skills would be a good fit for the ROCKFISH Games team.

As a Technical Artist, you will be the backbone of our content creation pipeline. You won’t just be implementing shaders; you will identify performance bottlenecks, ensure asset validity, and empower our art team to deliver high-fidelity visuals using the latest Unreal Engine 5 features like Nanite and Lumen without compromising framerates.

- Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines and tools (editor utilities, validators) to streamline workflows
- Investigate and solve complex rendering and stability issues related to new UE5 technologies (Nanite, Lumen)
- Collaborate closely with the Asset Leads to improve scalability across platforms
- Support the team in implementing and optimizing complex material shaders
Requirements
- Professional experience as a Technical Artist in the games industry
- Deep understanding of Unreal Engine 5, including profiling and debugging tools
- Experience with memory management and asset validation workflows
- Solid understanding of 3D math and rendering pipelines
- Proficiency in German
